About Our School

Montclair SchoolThe Montclair School was built in 1912 with additions in the 1930s and 1954. The original schoolhouse was built in response to the population growth in the northwest section of the City of Quincy. The Montclair neighborhood is bordered by the Neponset River to the north, Beale Street to the south, Newport Avenue to the west, and the Town of Milton to the east. It was once part of Dorchester and became part of the Town of Quincy in 1792. The school takes its name from the section of the city in which it is located. The Montclair School opened its doors to serve the educational needs of the community in September 1912. The Montclair School has students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. We are proud of its rich history and continue to be a school of excellence that strives to meet the needs of today's children.

Message from the Principal of Montclair:

Renee Malvesti

Our guiding principle is as follows:

The Montclair School's mission is to provide our students with the best quality education possible.

Our mission at the Montclair school is to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for children to achieve their individual maximum potential. Our desire is to develop students who persevere in their studies, take responsibility for their choices, and are honest in their character. We seek to equip the students with the necessary skills to thrive as productive workers and committed citizens and to meet the challenge of change in a global community. We strive to help children discover and explore their gifts and talents and to value and respect each other's uniqueness. To accomplish our mission, staff, parents, and students must work in a collaboration of effort and trust with open communication. Our success will be measured by our students who exemplify a lifelong love of learning. The Montclair School Community is truly a great place to grow.

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I have the opportunity to fulfill the role of educational leader at Montclair School. I look forward to a wonderful school year with an extremely dedicated staff, devoted parents, and committed community members.
